The Dalbrae Dragons and Strait Space Training Recreation Centre Saints (SAERC) picked up wins on Day 1 of the Nova Scotia Faculty Athletic Federation Division 2 highschool hockey championship event on the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre on Thursday.

The Dragons rolled the Inverness/Baddeck Rebels 14-2.

Matthew Ellis scored for objectives for the Dragons, whereas Luke Gould, Luke Van Zutphen and Keith MacDonell every chipped in with two objectives apiece. Colin Van Zutphen, Jayden Muise, Griffin Spears and Ryan MacLean had single objectives.

Michael Cameron and Micheal Smith replied with objectives for the Rebels.

Dalbrae’s Eric MacIsaac made 4 saves. Inverness/Baddecks’ Dan Morrison stopped 39 of 53 photographs.
